I'm a Celebrity Get me Out of Here

Mountain rescue officials in Salzburg were kept busy with the cases of two women who decided to go hiking with inappropriate footwear.

Despite the fact that avalanche warnings should have been enough to deter both women from hiking with shoes not designed for the job.

In the most recent incident a German woman who is a musician in an orchestra in Cologne was rescued after going hiking at Nockstein bei Koppl-Guggenthal in Flachgau, Salzburg.

The Ground was so icy that the young musician was unable to go any further towards the peak of the 1043 metre high Nockstein, but had also been unable to climb down.

A few hours earlier rescue workers had also been called to rescue a 21-year-old woman who also had the wrong footwear after climbing the nearby Gaisberg.

She was airlifted to safety in the valley by police helicopter and when she landed told rescuers waiting below: "I'm a celebrity, get me out of here."

Despite the cost of the rescue operation the 21-year-old will not have to pay for her stupidity.

Police officers are obliged to help anybody in difficulty and are not allowed to send an invoice for their work.
