Air Berlin is to begin an additional flight between Salzburg and Düsseldorf, Germany.
This will mean there are three flights per day operated by Germany's second largest airline Air Berlin between the destinations.
Up until now there were two flights between the cities per day in the morning and in the evening. Now there is a third daily flight to be introduced which will be at midday.
Dusseldorf is used for many flights to Abu Dhani, Asia, Africa and Australia.
Airport boss Roland Hermann said: "Air Berlin has recognised how important the connection between Salzburg and Düsseldorf is and even in these difficult economic times has increased the number of seats between the cities."
The flight will be operated with the 76 seater Dash 8-400 airline.
