Austrian police have arrested 48-year-old man after he kidnapped his neighbours pet rabbits in Salzburg and beat them to death in a row over a 500 euro debt.
Local police said that the 42-year-old woman had purchased the two pet rabbits for her children and that the money had been lent to the 48-year-old who'd used it to buy cannabis.
When he was asked to repay the debt he refused because he no longer had the money and after a heated row police heard he grabbed the two rabbits – and killed them by bashing them against a wall before cooking the bodies.
He faces animal cruelty charges and also possession of drugs charges after police called to investigate the incident recovered cannabis from his home.
