Man drives car off mountain
A man has died after driving his car off a mountain in Salzburg.
Local paragliders, who use the Gaisbergspitze for their sport, alerted authorities after discovering tyre tracks leading off the side of the peak.
A police helicopter spotted the car lying at the bottom of the mountain with the driver slumped behind the wheel.
The man, whose identity has not yet been revealed, was pronounced dead at the scene and a mountain rescue team recovered his body.
So far authorities have been unable to clarify the circumstances of the accident. It is still uncertain when the incident occurred and why the car drove off the mountain.
Officers are hoping a post-mortem carried out today (TUES) will provide some answers.
