Lonely wallaby back at chicken farm home
A red-necked wallaby has returned home under own steam after he hopped it from his enclosure in Wagrain in Pongau in Salzburg province.
Chicken farmer Daniel Kofler who owns the male wallaby had already said that he predicted the animal would come back under its own steam when it got hungry. But in fact it was the lure of his two female companions that finally brought him back after he apparently got lonely.
The two female wallabies were in the enclosure when the only male called Skipper decided to hop it after the wind blew a door open. The two females decided to stay behind.
The animal normally eats grass, nuts and hay and was not regarded as a danger to the public although hunters have been warned if possible not to shoot the animal by mistaking it for a boar.

Water quality tests in lakes
The bathing lake next to the motorway in Wals-Viehhausen (Flachgau) has one of the worst water qualities. A test showed that there is a high amount of bacteria in the lake.
