The Coral roll into Vienna

Psychedelic indie rock stars The Coral are to come to Austria, it has been announced.

The Hoylake-based five-member format will perform at Vienna’s Szene club on 29 October, according to a report by Britishrock.cc.

The Coral – whose sixth studio album "Butterfly House" will be released in German-speaking Europe later this month – have given gigs in Austria several times over the past few years.

They were one of the around 50 bands performing at the 2005 Frequency Festival in Salzburg, a three-day event co-headlined by Oasis, Foo Fighters and Die Toten Hosen.

The band’s eponymous debut album received platinum status in 2002, while the acclaimed follow-up "Magic and Medicine" was topped the UK Album Chart the next year.

Other top Vienna live music events in October are the concerts by Scottish alternative rock rookies The Cinematics (21 October, Flex) and German pop trio Anajo (28 October, Arena).
