There has never been so many vegetarians in Austria, perfect timing in fact for Veggie Planet - Austria’s first trade fair for vegetarians, vegans and all those interested in non meat related products.
The event takes place on 24th and 25th March in the Salzburg Congress Centre.
The Austrian Vegan Society together with other partners will be demonstrating everything vegan not only for vegans but also those interested in healthy, sustainable eating.
It’s not just about salad leaves and bananas; food lovers will learn what culinary delights really await non meat eaters.
Felix Hnat from the Austrian Vegan Society said: "Veggie Planet will surprise the public, there is something for everyone from multiple layer vegan wedding cakes, to meat free donor kebabs to presentations and cookery demonstrations, there is lots on offer."
That also includes animal free cosmetics, foods, clothing, and as a special highlight Tirolean vegan cake artist Christian Geiser will present pralines, wedding cakes and fabulous bakery products made completely free of animal products.
Last year Christian Geiser managed to create the largest egg and milk free chocolate roll in the world. He said: "Egg and milk don’t have much taste and are not necessary for baking."
At 11.30 on 24th March Christian Geiser will put on a baking show completely animal product free.
